"In Search Of Paradise"

Fri Jun 5, 2009, 4:50 PM
After much thought, I reached a conclusion that maintaining many different poetry manuscripts would be counterproductive to my efforts to get one completed within a logical period of time. So I then moved to combine "Trial By Fire" and "Unresolved", while purging certain poems that I saw as simply filler pieces that were there to take up space. Since then, I've written much more poems to add to the new complete list of poetry for the manuscript.

The new manuscript is titled "In Search Of Paradise", and it is the combination of "Trial By Fire" and "Unresolved", two previously incomplete manuscripts. Numbering currently, as of June 5, 2009, at 39 poems. I'm aiming for 50 total.

Here is the list:
"Above Me"
"Carpe Diem"
"Darkness Continues"
"Dirty Laundry List"
"Do You Believe"
"Dreaming Hard"
"February Sanctuary"
"Firing The Darkness"
"Forget-Me-Now"
"From Here"
"Ghost Train"
"Go"
"Gods Among Men"
"Good Morning Tomorrow"
"Hangar 6805"
"Her Eyes"
"I Need"
"In Search Of Paradise"
"In The Dark"
"Incognito"
"Learning Game"
"Learning To Hate Myself"
"On And On And On"
"Prison Without Bars"
"Reinassance Superhuman"
"Shadows Of Imagination"
"Still Around"
"The Battle For Everything"
"The World"
"Thirty Days"
"Throwaway Heartbeat"
"Timeless Graffiti"
"Twenty Minutes Distance"
"Two Like Ten"
"Unexplored"
"Waiting For Carolina"
"We'll Go"
"Without"

This is it. Much of it is already on DeviantArt. Certain pieces just haven't been added for no reason. A very small select few are being withheld intentionally from posting, to be saved for the surprise in the manuscript.

I'm aiming for a poetry contest later in the summer and it is that I hope to claim my first victory in publishing. I'm a poet with aspirations. A man simply just trying to win for once.

Awesome news! You'll enjoy the experience, it is great to be in such a crowd of like-minded individuals.

I'm going to be speaking at the one here in the capital. My citizen's initiative is becoming a controversial topic and I plan addressing the crowd. I hope to YouTube it, too :D

Why is it becoming controversial? And what exactly is your platform? I wish I could speak there, too, but I am like deathly afraid of public speaking. As Jeff Foxworthy put it, I'd "rather be in the casket than giving the eulogy." :)

People view it as either too extreme or not extreme enough. One person wants secession to be worded into the resolution as a threat of outcome, while more believe it is too long and too wordy. It's four pages.

My personal belief is the government needs to stay out of my personal life and needs to be limited to the letter of the Constitution. No usurpations. I don't care if its for fighting global warming, communism, terrorism, or some other monster in the dark. Usurpations are holes that eventually lead to an unraveling, much like what we've started now.

Oh trust me, public speaking is not a strong suit. I've done it twice in my life, both in oratorical contests in High School on the Constitution. The first one was on the Second Amendment and the second on Impeachment. I'm very nervous, but I feel it needs to be done. We'll see come that day though...haha.

And I love Jeff Foxworthy. He is awesome :)

Yeah, usurpations are definitely bad. And here it is, we're Iran.
